May is National Foster Month
May 4, 2026

This month, Richland County Children Services proudly recognizes National Foster Care Month — a time to honor the people who make our mission possible. We extend our deepest appreciation to our dedicated caseworkers, whose compassion and commitment guide children and families through some of their most challenging moments. Their work is the foundation of safety, stability, and hope in our community.
We also celebrate our foster families, who open their homes and hearts to children in need. Their willingness to provide love, structure, and support creates life‑changing opportunities for youth across Richland County.
As we honor those already serving, we are also calling on our community to help meet the growing need for foster homes. More children are entering care, and more families are needed to ensure they can remain close to their schools, friends, and support systems.
If you’ve ever considered fostering, now is the time to learn more. Together, we can ensure every child in Richland County has a safe and loving place to grow. For information call 419-774-4100.
