Richland County Children Services donates toys to area children

December 19, 2025

MANSFIELD, OH - The North Pole was in Mansfield on Wednesday night as Richland County Children Services, in conjunction with Richland Correctional Institution, donated toys collected through a recent toy drive to area children. The toy drive ran through Dec. 1 and toys could be collected at numerous locations throughout the county.

"This has really been a great event and a great way to display how important community is," said deputy warden of special services for Richland Correctional Institution Keisha Allen. "We got tons and tons of toy donations for these youth that are in foster care, so we're excited about doing this again next year, we're excited about today. It just feels good to be able to make someone's Christmas a little bit brighter."

WMFD previously reported about Buckeye Superstore taking in toys for the toy drive. Some of the other locations that toys were accepted were at JPB Marketing in Mansfield, Apple Hill Orchard in Mansfield, Premiere Tanning in Shelby, Zac's Auto Sales in Mansfield, House of Pieces in Mansfield, North End Community Improvement Collaborative in Mansfield, and at the Richland County Children Services building in Mansfield.

Allen said that so many toys were collected that each child was able to take home at least six toys.
