Local youths received a new set of wheels as part of a special giveaway organized by the Mansfield Peace Coalition, Children’s Cupboard Outreach and Richland County Children Services (RCCS).

Mansfield, OH - A dozen youth received a new set of wheels Tuesday, September 8th, as part of a special giveaway outside of Hedges School organized by the Mansfield Peace Coalition, Children’s Cupboard Outreach and Richland County Children Services (RCCS).

The donation was made possible through the Richland Correctional Institution (RiCI). Inmates at RiCI took the old donated bikes from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office and repaired them.

Officials at RiCI contacted RCCS about donating the bikes to the agency. RiCI teamed up with Richland County Children Services (RCCS) to provide more than 50 free bicycles to Children’s Cupboard earlier this year.

Children’s Cupboard partnered with the Mansfield Peace Coalition to give away more than a dozen remaining bicycles to close out the Labor Day holiday.
