MANSFIELD -- Easter Bunny-minded community partners are being sought for a city-wide Drive-Thru Easter Celebration on March 27 at South Park.

The City of Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department, Richland County Children Services and the Mansfield Y are organizing the event from noon to 2 p.m.

"Since we have not been able to have 'normal' events, due to the pandemic, we would like to make this a big community event, which includes a plethora of community partners," said Angel Singleton, recreation coordinator for the city's parks and recreation department.

Singleton said organizers are planning the event along the one-way semicircle in South Park, 100 Brinkerhoff Ave.

She said community partners would stand along the route and pass out candy, small toys, information, craft kits, pre-packaged food, games or other items aimed at making it a fun experience for children and families.

"In an effort to make this event a success, we need you, your organization or business! It would be a great outreach opportunity, as we would include your organization in our advertising of the event as well as in any other media opportunities. Also, we usually have a big turn out for our events," Singleton said.

"We will also have masks, gloves and hand sanitizer available for anyone who may want it," she said.

Individuals, organizations or businesses interested in participating are asked to contact Singleton by Feb. 26 vie email at  asingleton@ci.mansfield.oh.us or mansfieldcityparks@gmail.com or by calling 419-522-9801 or 419-610-6915.
