RCCS kicks off The Father Within Parenting Course

Richland County Children Services (RCCS) is partnering with Starts Within Founder Carlos Christian on a special program designed to help active  fathers gain an understanding of parenting principles and child development strategies.

The Father Within Parenting Course officially kicked off on Monday, September 14, at RCCS in the Futty Training and Learning Center.

Carlos facilitates the course, which is designed to engage fathers who need support as well as fathers who are seeking to improve their parental skill set. The course includes: Legalities of Fatherhood, Building Parental Influence through Powerful Interactions, and The Art of Listening.

“The fathers participating in the course learn about a shared parenting plan, a parenting time order, how to navigate the child support system...the things that present themselves as barriers to fathers being able to do what they do as far as parenting their children. I believe in every father in the course," Carlos said.

The Father Within Parenting Course is held Monday and Friday from 12:30-2:00 p.m.

The course consists of 8 sessions and the course is free! New classes start every month!
