Owen Drexel's drawing will appear in the 2019-2020 agency calendar. 

Owen Drexel, a third-grade student at Mansfield Christian is the third place winner of Richland County Children Services 6th Annual Billboard and Calendar contest.

RCCS surprised Owen with a $25 gift card and a Certificate of Excellence.

The 6th Annual Billboard and Calendar contest is open to third grade students in Richland County and is sponsored by the agency as part of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. Over 200 entries were submitted into the contest. The theme of this year's contest was "When I Grow Up I Want To Be..." Owen wants to be a farmer.

Owen's class celebrates him receiving the Certificate of Excellence. 

RCCS employees judged more than 200 entries from third grade classes invited to participate.

Quintin Roberts, a third grade student at St. Peter's Elementary & Montessori School, was the first place winner.  Quintin's drawing showed his desire to be a police officer. 

Richland County Children Services decided to have the second and third place winners also appear on a billboard. The second place winner was Remington Hedrick from St. Peter's Elementary.  

All three students drawings will be in the agency's 2019-2020 calendar along with Beckett Slaughter, Stingel Elementary; Kaelin Scott, Stingel Elementary; Jewells Sewell, John Sherman Elementary; Dajsia Narvaez, Richland School of Academic Arts; Shiloh Walter, Mansfield Spanish Immersion; Izaya Reynolds, Plymouth Shiloh Elementary School; Owen Hendershott, Mifflin Elementary; Hayden Mowry, Bellville Elementary and Caleb W. Cole, St. Peter’s Elementary. 

The calendars will be distributed by Richland County Children Services during the Richland County Fair and other community events.
