MANSFIELD, OH - Forty pillowcases were donated to Richland County Children Services from representatives from Kindness Rocks on Wednesday. Click the link to the video.

The pillowcases will be used during the summer when kids from children services go camping.

Originally, 30 hand-sewn pillowcases were donated  by a grandmother who wished to remain anonymous to Kindness Rocks, a project by H.R Choices Inc. and My Choice, and wanted to see the pillowcases put to good use.

Kindness Rocks saw news articles on how the Richland Correctional Institution Inmate Red Cross Chapter donated pillowcases to Richland County Children Services and decided to do the same.

The group held a "Puppy Chow" fundraiser to raise money for an additional ten pillowcases, raising the total to 40 that were donated.

"I would just like to say thank you so much for the pillowcases" Rhonda Marsh, Kinship Navigator of Richland County Children Services, said to representatives from Kindness Rocks during the presentation. "This is such a blessing for you guys to give them the pillowcases, and we really appreciate your donation."

My Choice (Owned by H.R Choices INC.), located in Lexington, provides day services Monday through Friday to individuals 18 and over with developmental disabilities.

Seven individuals and a staff advisor from My Choice created a project called "Kindness Rocks!". The project aims to plan ways to spread kindness to the local community.

"We do things in the community to try and find ways to just help others," Kim Corwin, Activity Coordinator at My Choice and Kindness Rocks, said.

Kindness Rocks members , Jake Meredith, Pam Eichelberge, Evonna Kinkade, and Anne Knapp were in attendance during the presentation.
