The Target Corporation donated five $10 gift cards to Richland County Children Services for children in foster care.

The gift cards will be used to purchase clothing or toiletries.

The general managers at the Target in Ontario said the discount retailer is happy to give back to the local community.

"We are thankful for the support from our community. No matter the amount of the donation it speaks to the continued commitment when it comes to the need of our children in care," Foster Care Specialist, Sarah Owen, said.

"We look forward to continuing partnerships with Target and other like minded businesses within our community."

In 2017, Target gave $217 million in cash and products to schools and nonprofit organizations.

Target has 1,835 stores in the United States, 39 distribution centers in the United States, more than 350,000 team members worldwide and global locations in India.
