Mansfield Senior Holds In-School Rally Against Bullying

 

 

 MANSFIELD, OH - Mansfield Senior High School's Freshman Academy, along with Richland County Children's Services, held an in-school "Hear Something, See Something, Say Something" rally at 10 a.m.Wednesday morning in the school's auditorium in an effort to speak out against and stop bullying, child abuse, and other similar problems.

In 2017, Richland County Children's Services revealed that the organization had processed nearly 1,700 allegations or service requests throughout the year, with over 770 children involved in around 390 open cases.

Mansfield Senior students Owyn Langston, Azaria Avila and Reese Vaught spoke onstage for the event, talking about school violence. Several guest speakers also took the stage during the rally, including local dignitaries and area leaders such as Superintendent of Mansfield City Schools Brian Garverick, Assistant Police Chief Keith Porch, Richland County Children's Services Executive Director Patricia Harrelson, Freshman parent Falon Allen, and Mansfield Mayor Tim Theaker. Theaker presented a proclamation from the City of Mansfield, observing Child Abuse Awareness.
