Richland County Youth and Family Council seeks grant applicants

January 19, 2012

Richland County Youth and Family Council is requesting applicants for the Ohio Children's Trust Fund to be utilized for Fiscal Year 2013 (July 1, 2012 through June 31, 2013).

Grant funds should be used to prevent child abuse and neglect through investing in strong communities, healthy families and safe children.

The program is required to be evidence-based as designated and approved by the OCTF. Each program funded must address at least one of five protective factors: parental resilience; social connections; knowledge of parenting and child development; concrete support in times of need; and children's social and emotional development.

Each program must specify how it will prevent or reduce child abuse or neglect. Programs are not permitted to use funds for families with open or substantiated cases of abuse or neglect. Programs are required to administer a survey to families served with these funds. Programs are required to collect, maintain and report outcome and evaluation data, as well as demographic data as part of their delivery program.

More information and applications can be requested through the council office at 419-522-8213 or altt@odjfs.state.oh.us.

Applications are due by March 5 at 4 p.m. to Richland County Youth and Family Council, 445 Bowman St., Suite 138, P.O. Box 1986, Mansfield, Ohio, 44901.
