Breakfast with the Easter Bunny a hit with children and parents alike
April 18, 2011MADISON TOWNSHIP -- More than 150 local adults and children attended the annual "Breakfast with the Easter Bunny" event on Saturday at St. Mary's Elementary School on Ashland Road.
Proceeds from the breakfast benefit Citizens for Children Services.
The menu included all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, juice, milk and coffee. The event went from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
In addition, all children had the opportunity to visit with the Easter Bunny, sit on his lap or just stand back and gaze in wonder at the child's fairy tale creature come to life. Each child also got a chocolate bunny after his or her visit. Parents could have their child's photo taken with the Easter Bunny and have it e-mailed to them.
"We had another great morning," said Brianne Kindinger, the agency's volunteer coordinator. "The weather was nasty and cold outside .. but the atmosphere inside was warm and cheery."
Kindinger praised St. Mary's School for again allowing the breakfast to be staged there.
"We could not ask for a better place to have this than at St. Mary's," Kindinger said. "They opened up their entire kitchen and dining facility to us and it makes all the difference in the world."
