iHeart Media Ashland/Mansfield launches 2nd Annual iHeartRADIO for the Homeless Campaign

IHEARTMEDIA ASHLAND/MANSFIELD LAUNCHES 2nd Annual iHeartRADIO for the Homeless Campaign in partnership with Mechanics Bank benefiting 6 local charities over 2 counties
Mansfield, OH – For the second year in a row iHeartMedia Ashland/Mansfield radio stations (WNCO-FM, WXXF-FM, WMAN-AM, WYHT-FM, WFXN-FM, WNCO-AM and WSWR-FM) in partnership with Mechanics Bank, have launched a campaign to help our communities homeless population. Starting Sunday November 1st, listeners in Mid-Ohio will be able to donate much needed items at 22 donation drop-off locations throughout Richland, Ashland and Crawford counties.
Richland County Children Services (RCCS) is participating again in this year's campaign.
“In a normal year, the winter season brings the need for keeping area homeless warm with essential items. This year the need is greater as there are many more homeless individuals and families due to the pandemic. During these very difficult times, we are using the power of our 7 radio stations and will be leaning on the good will our listeners have, to help us collect these items, said Chris Kelly, Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia, Ashland/Mansfield. “As with anything we do, we do as a community. We have had a great deal of support this year from people who want to help. We're all in this together.”
iHeartRADIO for the Homeless will be collecting new socks, fleece blankets, hats, gloves, umbrellas and new/gently used sleeping bags and coats. This year’s campaign has partnered with two Richland County schools, Ontario and Madison, who are using this opportunity to teach and allow their students to give back to the community.
