Richland County Children Services has released the “2019 Annual Report, Our Kids, Our Future.” Click here to view report.

The report spotlights the work of RCCS frontline heroes -caseworkers and support staff who are dedicated to helping families thrive and become successful. One of the most important roles of a RCCS caseworker is strengthening families. The report features stories about visitation and safe reunification, Ohio START (Sobriety, Treatment and Reducing Trauma) an evidence-informed children services led intervention model that helps families impacted by addiction, and the Kinship navigator program that works with families to locate and obtain community services to meet the needs of the children they are raising, in addition to their own needs.

The report features the touching story “A Long Road to Permanency,” about two siblings who found their forever family after being in foster care for four years.

The report also includes a letter from Executive Director Nikki Harless, and  information about the Agency’s commitment to attract and retain frontline heroes – child welfare caseworkers.

In addition, the report includes information about the number of children and families served, local levy funds, revenues and expenses.  The report includes a section called "A Partner in the Community ," which highlights community events the employees of RCCS have participated in as a way to give back to the residents and communities the agency supports.

"2019 was a year of many changes, both within our Agency and throughout our community. One thing that has remained constant however is our commitment to serve others with grace and humility,” Harless said.
