MANSFIELD, OH - A project will ensure that foster children can celebrate their birthday no matter what circumstance.

Vitality Natural Wellness and Medspa spoke with Together We Rise, a non-profit organization for foster children, on how they can help the local community. The idea for a "Birthday Box" came up, and the organization immediately pursued the project.

Each "Birthday Box" contains items essential for a birthday party, from balloons to candles, the box allows kids to have a resource to help "kick-start" their own birthday party. The box also comes with a gift card to Dairy Queen.

"We learned in foster care, children typically will miss their birthdays because they are either changing homes or the temporary parent does not know it's their birthday," said Kristin Kipp, Marketing Director for Vitality Natural Wellness and Medspa. "Being able to send a birthday box guarantees that it's not a holiday that will be missed."
The boxes will be packed and delivered to Richland County Children Services in the near future, where the organization will then distribute the boxes to foster children.

The funds for the birthday boxes were provided through an annual event held by Vitality Natural Wellness and Medspa late last year. All proceeds from ticket sales went to buying supplies, boxes, and more.

This Saturday, February 15th, the organization will be packing all birthday items into the boxes ahead of their delivery to Richland County Children Services. The event is open to the public and will be held at the Vitality Natural Wellness and Medspa Mansfield office from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
