Mother & Son Retreat at Hedges Community Center

Mansfield, OH - April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and RCCS is marking this occasion with several         activities, including a Mother & Son Retreat held Saturday, April 13, at Hedges Community Center, 176 Hedges St.

RCCS partnered with Princess Endowment, Inc to present an event full of fun and memorable activities for mothers and sons.

Princess Endowment, Inc. was founded by Mansfield native Enisia Lee. The mission of the organization is to edify the skills necessary to promote healthy cultivation of youth by focusing on educational advancement, character building, goal setting and achievement, and physical and emotional wellness.

The Mother and Son Retreat is for moms and their sons in grades 1-6.

The retreat featured mother/son bonding activities, guest speakers, food, and prizes.

The guest speakers were Christen Lee, founder of ETL Evolving Through Love, who spoke about the special bond of mothers and sons, Rossi Azmoun, Public Information Officer for RiCI and Willie Salas, Unit Manager Chief for ManCI spoke about conflict resolution and gangs.

The event also included a special painting activity by Artist Darrick Barrows who spoke about the importance of faith, hope and love.

RCCS will wrap up the month long observance with a Family Prom – A Night in Hollywood event at the UMADAOP Outreach Center, 215 N. Trimble Rd. Mansfield, on Friday, May 3, from 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.

The event is a fun opportunity to get dressed up with your children and dance the night away.

This event is open to RCCS employees and their families, agency families, all children (ages birth to 18-years-old) and their parents, grandparents or other adult. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The celebration will include a snack bar, a DJ, door prizes and photos. Formal or Business attire requested.

Tickets are $6 per person in     advance, $8 per person at the door. Babies ages 0-3 years free admission.
