City of Shelby Proclaims Child Abuse Prevention Month

Shelby Mayor Steve Schag presents proclamation in observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month to Brigitte Coles, Community Engagement Specialist.

 

Shelby - Shelby City Council issued a proclamation Monday designating April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in the city.

The proclamation was read by Mayor Steve Schag during the Shelby City Council meeting. Brigitte Coles, Community Engagement Specialist, accepted the proclamation on behalf of the agency.

The public child welfare agency has assessed 1,670 allegations of abuse and request for services, an average of five new cases per day in 2017.
