About Us

For more than a century, Richland County Children Services has been protecting local children and providing assistance to families in need.

We are funded in a variety of ways, including federal and state dollars, as well as local funds provided through taxpayer support of two agency levies. This funding allows us to provide the best possible protection and assistance to Richland County residents.

Annual cost of child abuse, neglect in U.S. is $124 billion

The total lifetime estimated financial costs associated with just one year of confirmed cases of child maltreatment is $124 billion, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
